Include:
~sufficient details about your model(s) and experiments so that another researcher could repeat your study
~all of the antibodies, primer sequences and other specialized reagents used, as well as where they were obtained
~a statement indicating that animals were treated humanely and/or that human subjects gave their informed consent to participate in the study. Also indicate that the study was approved by the review board at your institution
~references for commonly used methods (e.g. Western blotting) rather than describing the entire protocols, but make sure you include any modifications made to the standard protocol
~information about the study design, data collection and data analysis, including the statistical analysis of your data
Do not include:
~non-standard abbreviations for reagents, or other abbreviations without indicating their meaning in the text the first time they are used
~too many details about well-known protocols (Western blotting, RT-PCR, cell culture, etc)
~too few details about your specific experiments. Make sure you include all the animal strains, cell lines, doses or concentrations, ages or passage numbers, etc. that were used in your studies
